Children of the City is a 501c3 nonprofit organization on a mission to close the wealth gap by helping communities advance.
Our programs are designed to improve socioeconomic outcomes for families over the long-run while meeting basic needs along the way.
Since 1982, communities have leveraged our programs and services to support their educational, occupational, and financial journeys.
To support them we offer resources and services that drive socioeconomic progress, including academic help, literacy training, family counseling, and public systems advocacy.
Over 15,000 hard-working families and 5,000 students have benefited from our services and programs over the last 40+ years.
The results have been overwhelmingly positive.
English-learning families have improved their math and reading proficiencies. Youth from underrepresented groups have successfully enrolled into college. Low-income families have improved their financial outcomes.
This is a team effort.
Quality organizations, subject-matter experts, and talented people unite with Children of the City to deliver these services.
Foundations award grants to fund program operations. Businesses donate resources to help sustain families. Venues host fundraising events to raise capital. Philanthropists sponsor families to support those in need. Volunteers + staff team up to run the programs.
We look forward to continuing this work with your help.
The communities we serve deeply appreciate your support.
