A 2020 COVID Holiday Blessing

Christmas Wishes Granted for Sunset Park On December 22, 23, and 24 Children of the City had a Holiday distribution event where over 300 gifts, as well as boxes of food, were distributed to our program participants. We set up shifts for families to come and pick up items, checked temperatures, required the proper PPE to enter the building etc. It was during these pickups that we are reminded of what the Holidays truly are about. A father told us while picking up toys for his...

2019 Year End Holiday Event

We want to give a shout out to everyone who helped provide gifts and food for our COC Christmas event. Close to 100 families were in attendance. Even though it was quite a bit smaller this year due to several partnerships that were unable to help, we found this to be a great opportunity to get to know some of the families we help on a more intimate level and build some important relationships, forging a deeper and more effective platform of service. We continue to inform and support parents as we provide much needed educational assistance along with the most basic needs for their children....

Christmas Event 2016

Children of the City was able to brighten the Holidays for many unsuspecting families, as approximately 400 children and their parents gathered at our headquarters in Sunset Park for a special Christmas event. There was food, games, music, and Muppets, but best of all, each child did not leave empty handed. Many of the children had been able to fill out a “wish list” months prior, and others who were invited were also blessed with a wonderful gift. Moms were present, many of them carrying newborns in their arms as young as 2 weeks old. It is the desperation of poverty that...
